Where Waters Meet
Dead of Winter and the Canadian Chamber Choir
Sunday, October 4, 2026 at 3PM
Desautels Concert Hall
Conductors: Julia Davids and Mel Braun
A powerful collaboration featuring the Canadian Chamber Choir on their Manitoba tour. This program highlights the works of three acclaimed composers: Carmen Braden (Yellowknife, NWT), Sheryl Sewepagaham (Cree-Dene, Little Red River Cree Nation) and Andrew Balfour (Cree – Winnipeg).
The afternoon features individual sets from each choir, culminating in a combined ensemble performance. We are thrilled to welcome the University Singers as guests for Sheryl Sewepagaham’s work, and local Inuit throat singers Aleatra Sammurtok and Zeann Manernaluk , will join Dead of Winter for a special presentation of Quamaniq.
WinterSing
Sunday, November 29, 2026 at 3PM
Crescent Arts Centre
Conductor: Vic Pankratz
A Winnipeg tradition that bridges the gap between today’s masters and tomorrow’s voices. WinterSing features seasonal favorites performed by a combined ensemble of Dead of Winter veterans and emerging talent from the Desautels Faculty of Music (U of M). This season, we are proud to feature the Winnipeg Youth Orchestras as our 2026 guest ensemble for an afternoon of mentorship and festive harmony.
